You Weren’t Born to Be Small
Why we don’t eat to shrink ourselves at Outlook for Life
At Outlook for Life, we take a very different approach to health and nutrition.
We do not eat to be small.
We do not diet to fit social norms or meet outdated expectations of what women should look like.
Instead, we eat to be:
🌿 Strong
🌿 Energetic
🌿 Resilient
🌿 Annoyingly vital well into our later years!
What does that actually look like?
It means nourishing your body in a way that builds you up rather than breaks you down. It means eating on purpose—with intention, not restriction.
If you’re carrying extra weight, that can shift too. But it will happen in a way that feels supportive and sustainable. No more extreme diets or punishing plans. Just food that fuels you—body, mind, and soul.
My story: From chasing smallness to living fully
For years, I tried to become a “smaller version” of myself. I truly believed that if I hit a certain weight, I’d finally be happier, more loveable… better. But what happened was I starved myself and then binged, hating myself in the process. Never achieving the perfection I craved
I ended up with disordered eating patterns and a constant feeling of not being good enough. Later, I turned to food to suppress my emotions—becoming a compulsive overeater who used food as a distraction and a comfort.
But that chapter is closed.
Today, I eat with intention. I eat to be strong, not in a body building way but I fuel my body in a way that supports my energy, mental clarity, and emotional well-being. I’m no longer stuck in a cycle of restriction or emotional numbing. I’ve become what I call an emotional adult, and my relationship with food reflects that.
The 80/20 Principle
At Outlook, we believe in the 80/20 approach:
✅ 80% of the time, eat whole foods to nourish
🎉 20% of the time, eat to celebrate life!
Or as my dad used to say, “a little of what you fancy does you good.”
Food is not the enemy—it’s a tool. A way to build a vibrant, powerful, purposeful life. And here’s something I want you to remember:
Every cell in your body is made from the food you eat.
So what you choose today directly shapes who you become tomorrow.
I wasn't born to be small. I was born to live a big life. And so were you!
You were born to be strong, radiant, alive.
