#1 Post Comp and why compete anyway?
This week's vlog. Scroll down to the bottom of the homepage to watch VLOG. Yesterday was my first figure competition as a vegan and my last show in the 50’s age group. I had an absolute blast it was so much fun. I really didn’t feel ready. But you guys were all so positive, that I had to do it! Yes, I could have been in much better condition, but at the end of the day it really didn’t matter - it was all about the experience.
I felt confident in my poses and I really had fun up there! Nabba Counties Manukau was the ideal show for a practice run as the classes were small and the atmosphere was really neat. My next show is Hawkes Bay in 11 weeks and I can’t wait to see what I can bring to the stage by then. Any doubts over whether I could pull this off on a wholefood plant-based diet are gone. Yes, I can! Why do I compete? I am very goal-oriented and need to set goals to stay motivated.
I want to be in the best shape for my age that I can be. I want to inspire other women not to give up on themselves and to live to their full health potential! And because I love both the training and the discipline. Tomorrow I have my last photoshoot with Pete Morris in my fifties. The next one is going to be a celebration of making it to sixty. I’m taking the poodle Garett tomorrow so it will be interesting what we come up with! I’ll let you know next week. I am going to have a few days off my food plan and then launch back into it.
I probably won’t train tomorrow but pick it up on Tuesday and maybe put some short runs in to give me a break from cardio in the gym! Please email me if you have any questions over yesterday’s comp and let me know what you would like to know about the process of getting ready to compete and I will vlog it next time.
