#147 Foam rolling for mobiltity and health
For the procrastinators out there ... I love it when the first of the month rolls around. Especially as we head into spring. It is a great time to set new goals, get outside and exercise and enjoy the new season's fruits and veggies.
This month in the membership I am introducing some foam roller exercises to help with mobility and flexibility.

With monthly hormonal fluctuations, perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause come joint pain, increased inflammation and decreased muscle and connective tissue strength. Strength training definitely helps with this but foam rolling can increase your range of motion, flexibility and mobility by boosting circulation and lymphatic flow. Increasing the elasticity of muscle tissue and facia.
Breaking up the tightness in muscles helps to release tension and has a calming effect too.
We are also looking at the different electrolytes available who should be using them and how to make your own. I often see clients who are tired and lethargic and have poor recovery from exercise who accept it as a natural part of ageing when actually they just need to add electrolytes to their water and can't believe how they bounce back with increased energy.
We are also looking at adaptogens what are they and how may they help with hormonal fluctuations and weight gain.
