I’ve been there, wondering if I’m doing something wrong or if this is just how it’s going to be from now on.

I was talking to a new client earlier this week. Who was feeling like when it came to her weight loss. It was one step forward and two steps back.
She was sure she had her food on point and yet nothing was moving.
I too experienced this in my early 50s, put on weight, and found it more or less impossible to shift.
It turned out I actually needed to eat more and exercise less to lose weight and feel comfortable with my body composition.
Here are 10 things that you may need to tweak to lose your midlife weight gain.
1. Because our blood glucose control decreases as hormone levels change we need to switch to eating low glycemic carbohydrates. It can also be helpful to eat protein with carbohydrates.
2. Switching to consuming carbohydrates in the morning rather than at night.
3. Wine is sugar! Be sure to have at least four alcohol-free days a week.
4. Improve your sleep. Aim for 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night.
5. Get outside in the early morning to improve your circadian rhythm.
6. Track your incidental exercise.
7. Don't do hours of cardio.
8. Stay away from high-intensity, Boot Camp style training.
9. Learn to lift heavy weights.
10. Manage your mind around your lifestyle and food choices.
